DECA Century Club Contest

The DECA Century Contest is perhaps the most simple yet effective contest in the history of the civilization.  

        Have you ever felt like you wanted to improve the quality of your life?  Have you ever felt like you wanted to lose weight, feel better about yourself, be more productive, be healthier, think more clearly, etc.?  Well, the DECA Century Club gives you all of that and much more.  

      Something seemingly magical happens when we join the DECA Century Club.  It's like we tap into a natural spring of energy and the universe somehow opens up to us.  We find ourselves losing weight, gaining strength, endurance, flexibility, etc.  We feel better about ourselves.  We become more productive at work.  We make fewer errors.  We either spend less money, and or we get more value out of the money that we spend.  Our relationships work better.  We feel more popular.  We like ourselves more...   

   From Forest Gump to religious texts, people have alluded to the magic of the DECA Century Club throughout history.  There is just something magical that happens when we walk and or run 1000 miles.  

    Magic?  Let’s start by considering the math with regards to losing weight.  In many cases we start an exercise routine and then simply ignore the caloric equation.  We "do a bunch of exercising" and then we go and "reward ourselves with a big meal".  Well, if we workout for an hour we might burn as much as 600 calories.  Unfortunately, many "binge-out-reward-meals" can be much higher than 2000 calories.  

    Walking 1 mile burns about 100 calories.  One pound of fat is 3500 calories.  So, if we keep our calories constant when we join the DECA Century Club, we will lose a bunch of fat.  

100 (calories) x 1000 (miles) = 100,000 / 3500 (calories per pound) = about 30 pounds.  

    Losing 30 pounds is magical.  This starts to cause many other benefits.
